Novartis, BMS aid one plastic surgeon’s efforts in Kenya

McGuffrie In a few days, New York plastic surgeon Martha McGuffrie (right) will leave New City, New York, for Kenya, where she plans to treat Kenyan children afflicted with Burkitt's lymphoma (Bl). She'll leave with drugs donated by BMS and Novartis. Bl is rare here, but common in certain parts of Africa, and may be related to malaria. But its impacts are horrible.BI photo Oh, and, by the way, the inspiring Dr. MacGuffrie is now 82. No doubt, more pharma companies can help SHARE in its important work. -AMS
