Major layoffs at Schering

layoffs Schering-Plough will lay off 1,100 pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals at its plants in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. The move will reportedly save some $100 million per year. Is this good business, or a case of more Al "the chainsaw" Dunlap's practices moving to pharma? We'll soon see. But if anyone from Schering "cold calls" you over the next few months, take their calls and help them out. -AMS
