Control and Chiller Units Offer Unique Enclosure Design

Sterling’s SMC Series Portable Chillers offer a unique enclosure design that simplifies service and maintenance, and conserves valuable production floor space with a compact footprint. Hot gas bypass controls, liquid line shut-off valves as well as high and low refrigerant controls are standard.

The SMC offers an operating leaving water temperature range of 35°F to 65°F (-2°C to 18°C) and features an advanced off-the-shelf microprocessor-based controller with process and set point LED readouts for fast and simple programming. The SMC is also available in 2-40 hp models and various configurations for air, water and remote air-cooled applications. Their compact size and easy portability allows the SMC to be planned into an existing production layout easily and effectively.

Sterling’s 2010 high-tech design features simplified internal cast or non-ferrous circuit with 40% fewer connections and 80% fewer mechanical parts. The 2010 series also features a higher-efficiency pump for higher flow rates at lower pressure. The use of Sterling’s 2010 Series TCU results in dramatically enhanced water flow for superior temperature control.

With a standard operating leaving water temperature range of 32°F to 250°F (0°C to 121°C), the 2010 is also equipped with a compact, rugged cabinet with easy access side panels, dual stage immersion heaters with IEC contactors.

Sterling will be at Interphex 2007, held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York from April 24-26th. Sterling will be at booth number 1146, displaying the SMC portable chiller and the Royal Series 2010 Stainless Steel temperature control unit. At Interphex, the 2010 will be equipped with a NEMA 4X stainless steel enclosure and wash down motors.
