Unified Industrial Software Platform Consolidates Solutions

Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys, has unveiled its Wonderware System Platform, a unified software platform which supports simplified and consistent operations by delivering a common set of applications software services.

Built on the industry standards-based Archestra software architecture, the new Platform allows customers to have one common strategic platform for all of their networked supervisory HMI, SCADA, production management (MES) and performance management (manufacturing intelligence) solutions. Industrial information and automation personnel can easilty normalize their integration and application generation issues to rapidly adjust to the changing needs of their customers and the overall market.

The Wonderware Systems Platform includes a comprehensive set of capabilities that previously would have required multiple product offerings, including domain services not provided by commercial operating systems; connectivity services to any plant or information source; management of real-time and historical information; information provision to users at the right time/format; and easy management, expansion and modification of the computing architecture.

In addition, new Wonderware software modules leverage the Wonderware System Platform by adding functional capabilities to meet specific operational needs. These new modules include one or more QuickStarts consisting of pre-configured examples of best practices to address specific manufacturing scenarios, accelerate operational design and implementation, and reduce risks by supplying example applications, database structure, HMI graphics, Web reports and implementation guidelines.
