Millipore Corp. announced Nov. 6 that its Millistak+ Pod family of disposable filters has been expanded to include a version capable of processing small bioreactor batches of 5–20 L. The newest Pod is available in two sizes with 0.027 m2 and 0.054 m2 of surface area. The company is showcasing the entire Pod filter family this week at IBC’s Bioprocess International conference in San Francisco.
Because it uses Millistak+ filter media, the same media found in the pilot- and process-scale Pods, the newest size of the Pod family offers linear scale-up and the ability to meet changing process needs. The Millistak+ Pod system is suited to a wide variety of primary and secondary clarification applications.
The Millistak+ Pod system is part of Millipore's Mobius integrated, disposable solution.
