FDA Blasts Bloggers' Instructions on Homemade Epi-Pencil

According to an article in in-Pharma Technologist, a group of hackers claim that they have made an epinephrine delivery device that costs around $30. It comprises three parts: an Owen Mumford non-fixed needle autoinjector, a 1cc/ml sterile syringe and a BD PrecisionGlide Single-Use Hypodermic Needle -- all available online.

An FDA spokesperson warned people against that device, saying, "Using unapproved prescription drugs for personal use is a potentially dangerous practice."
