July 16, 2015

Sanofi has announced that it will adopt a simplified structure centered around five global business units, beginning in January 2016.

The seven existing business units will be restructured into five global units which will include: general medicines & emerging markets, specialty care, diabetes & cardiovascular, and two already-existing units -- Sanofi Pasteur vaccines, and Merial animal health.

The reorg comes under the control of newly hired CEO, Olivier Brandicourt, who took the wheel in April. Brandicourt has said that he will present a five-year strategic growth plan in November.
