Brazil Bans Import of Lupin APIs

Brazilian drug regulator ANVISA has suspended import of active pharmaceutical ingredients produced by India's Lupin citing "unsatisfactory inputs" and GMP deviations.

According to ANVISA, it has suspended imports of "all beta-lactam cephalosporin pharmaceutical ingredients and all imported drugs using these inputs" manufactured by Lupin.

A Lupin spokesperson says ANVISA had inspected the cephalosporin facility near Bhopal in central India and had certain observations, which have since been addressed.
