USGS: Manufacturing Facilities Releasing Drugs into Environment

A five-year study conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey has determined that effluent from drug manufacturing facilities is a significant source of pharmaceutical waste in the environment, and may be contributing to levels of watershed contamination that are a cause of concern for humans as well as plants and animals.
