Akorn Enters into an Exclusive Contract Manufacturing Supply Agreement

Akorn, Inc. a specialty pharmaceutical company on Sept. 11 announced that it has entered into a ten year exclusive contract manufacturing supply agreement with an undisclosed ophthalmic company.
Under the terms of the ten year agreement, Akorn will be responsible for the development, manufacturing and supply of two new ophthalmic products. Akorn estimates annual manufacturing revenue from this agreement of approximately $2.0 – 3.0 million. These two ophthalmic products are targeted for launch in mid-2009.
Arthur S. Przybyl, Akorn’s President and Chief Executive Officer stated, “This agreement reflects Akorn’s commitment to expanding our contract pharmaceutical manufacturing business unit.”
