AstraZeneca Appoints New VP, Customer Product Support and Business Services

AstraZeneca has announced the promotion of Kathy Monday as vice president, Customer Product Support and Business Services, effective January 1, 2008. Monday will oversee US Business Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Corporate Planning & Governance, and US Facilities management.
In her new role, Monday will serve as a member of AstraZeneca’s U.S. leadership team and will drive the US Operations strategy to enable a step change in productivity.
Tony Zook, CEO of U.S. Business comments, “There is great opportunity for our U.S. Operations team to create additional value for reinvesting in our business that, in turn, will deliver new benefits for our patients.” He added, “Kathy’s background and expertise make her the ideal person to deliver on AstraZeneca’s promise to use our supply chain as a competitive lever in a more meaningful way to get patients what they need, and when they need it.”
Monday explained, “In today’s highly-competitive environment, we must seize on every opportunity and accelerate the value we drive. I am confident that AstraZeneca’s transformation to an integrated end-to-end supply chain will power our performance.”
Monday most recently held the position of VP of Supply Chain and Technical Operations. She has 22 years of pharmaceutical industry experience and has held roles of increasing responsibility in technical operations and supply chain management. Kathy has a BS degree in Science from Villanova University and a BS in Pharmacy from Rutgers University. She is a board member of the Healthcare Business Women’s Association – Mid-Atlantic Chapter and the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation.
