Cambridge Healthtech Institute (Needham, Mass.) has issued a call for speaker proposals for its upcoming conference, "Protein Expression Europe," to be held Sept. 27-28 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. This conference will explore the newest data and innovations relating to the expression and characterization of proteins for biological understanding and therapeutics, as well as strategies to make the eventual expression of these proteins more effective, efficient and trouble-free.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
Constructs:
- mutagensis (techniques, libraries, selection...)
- vector systems (promoters, tags, signal sequences, chaperones...)
- synthetic genes (codon usage, labeling, modifications, truncations...)
- best application of bioinformatics
Expression systems:
- cell-free
- transient
- microbial
- stable cell lines
Novel technologies:
- throughput
- yield
- applications (biopharma, membrane proteins, etc.)
Isolation and purification (downstream processing):
- refolding
- protein modifications
- chromatography
- filtration
- 2-phase extraction
Protein characterization:
- purity
- identity
- quantity
- activity
- automation
Researchers who have new data or case studies in this field and would like to be considered for oral presenters, or to display a poster are encouraged to submit a title and a three- to five-sentence summary of your data, suitable for use in the program brochure should your abstract be selected for oral presentation. Please include full contact information for the presenter.
To ensure the quality of the program, all proposals will be reviewed by the Scientific Advisory Committee.
Deadline for submission of proposals is Friday, Apr. 21, 2007. For questions or suggestions about the meeting, please contact: Elizabeth Lamb, Senior Conference Director, at elamb@healthtech.com or visit www.healthtech.com/2007/pxe.
