Altana AG Completes Sale of its Pharmaceuticals Business to Nycomed

Altana AG of Bad Homburg, Germany, has announced the sale of Altana Pharma AG and its entire pharmaceuticals business to the Danish company Nycomed effective Dec. 31, 2006, for approximately €4.6 billion. With the divestment of its pharmaceuticals activities, Altana will now focus on its specialty chemicals business.
