Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Pfizer CentreSource (PCS) and ScinoPharm Taiwan Ltd. have entered into an agreement to manufacture and supply a series of selected steroid active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates, marking a new phase in this four-year old business relationship.
Pfizer will maintain initial bioconversion operations in its plant in Kalamazoo, Mich., and will then move labor-intensive downstream processing for a number of steroid products to ScinoPharm’s FDA-approved facilities over the next three years to bring more competitively-priced steroid APIs to the global market.
