Nat Ricciardi, president of Pfizer Global Manufacturing (PGM), on June 8 announced the appointment of Pete Stevenson as vice president, PGM, with responsibility for Contract Manufacturing, Procurement and Pfizer CentreSource. He will be based in New York City.

PGM operates plants and logistics centers at 120 sites in 37 countries and employs approximately 35,000 colleagues to supply Pfizer's pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare and animal health products.

In addition, PGM has tapped Michael Kosko to be president of Pfizer CentreSource (PCS), a leading provider of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), fine chemical intermediates and finished dosage forms to the pharmaceutical industry. Kosko, who reports to Stevenson, will remain based in Kalamazoo, Mich., where PCS is headquartered.

With more than 24 years in the chemical business, Stevenson brings depth and breadth of industry expertise to his enhanced leadership role at Pfizer Global Manufacturing. President of then-named Pharmacia CentreSource since 1999, Stevenson spearheaded its transition to Pfizer CentreSource following the acquisition by Pfizer of Pharmacia in 2003. As president of PCS, he positioned the unit as a premier source of custom products and manufacturing services, and drove its global sales and marketing efforts.

He previously served at Rhone-Poulenc and Celanese in a number of sales, marketing, technical services and manufacturing functions.

Kosko joined the Pfizer CentreSource in 2000 as vice president, Global Contract Manufacturing. Prior to joining Pfizer, he worked in a number of different leadership roles within the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

Pfizer CentreSource (PCS) is a separate operating unit within Pfizer, which has extensive capabilities and experience in active pharmaceutical ingredient and dosage form manufacturing. A globally networked business, PCS markets active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), fine chemical intermediates and finished dosage forms and provides analytical and regulatory support.
