New Editor for PAT Journal
IFPAC has appointed Walter Henslee, Ph.D., as the new editor in chief for the peer reviewed journal, JPAC, which focuses on process understanding and control at the heart of FDA’s PAT guidance.
Dr. Henslee recently retired after 30 years with the Dow Chemical Company. Henslee graduated magna cum laude from Baylor University and earned M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in X-ray crystallography from the University of Texas at Austin. During his distinguished career, he has served as people leader, technical leader and scientist for diverse groups in analytical sciences, new product development, maintenance and engineering. Special assignments both inside and outside Dow included: Chair, Design Team for Global Process Analytical Discipline; Chair, Global Analyzer Technology Resource Network; Panelist, National Research Council’s Board of Assessment for the National Institute of Standards and Technology; General Conference Chair and Scientific Board for the International Forum on Process Analytical Chemistry - IFPAC; and Member, Joint Committee on International X-Ray Powder Diffraction Standards.
He is an author on 100 presented or published papers and nine U.S. patents. Groups he led have received more than 35 Dow Technology Center Awards from eight different businesses, valued at over $350 million. He currently serves on the Scientific Board for the International Forum on Process Analytical Chemistry - IFPAC, the Scientific Advisory Board for the PhD Chemistry program at the University of Texas, Dallas and as an expert reviewer for grant proposals to the National Science Foundation.
